Luka Modrics Contract With Real Madrid Is Set To Be Extended Until 2023.
Luka Modric continues to perform at a high level, and Real Madrid has recognized this by extending the Croatian midfielder’s contract until June 2023.
The 36-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur playmaker is nearing the twilight of his career, but he continues to impress. After leading Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final, many anticipated Modric to retire, but he has earned the team’s spot in Qatar in 2022.
One of Modric’s career goals for the latter stages has been to play in a fourth World Cup, while another is to play at the redeveloped Estadio Santiago Bernabeu when it is completed in 2022.Work is underway to extend Modric’s contract for another year. A new contract will be signed soon, with Modric agreeing to stay in Madrid until June 2023.
Modric will have played 11 seasons with Los Blancos, an accomplishment normally reserved for the club’s greatest players.
Kroos, Modric, and Casemiro
The Croatian has forged one of the best midfield trios to wear the renowned white shirt. His most recent excellent match was the recent Camp Nou win over Barcelona.
Modric’s constancy does not mean Los Merengues are neglecting their future; the club is contemplating alternatives. The Spanish giants want Paul Pogba and Aurelien Tchouameni, with the latter set to join Eduardo Camavinga.
