Kristen Stewart Opens Up About Anxiety In Elle UK Magazine
Mental health is a crucial topic to talk about. It is important to remember that mental health is just as important as physical health. Although one might not be able to see it, having a mental disorder is a serious matter and should not be ignored.
Many celebrities in the past have come out to discuss the topic. For example, Demi Lovato recently discussed her past with a mental illness at the Democratic National Convention.
More recently, Kristen Stewart discussed her struggles with anxiety in her interview with Elle UK.
I went through so much stress and periods of strife. I would have panic attacks…I literally always had a stomach ache. And I was a control freak and I couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen in a given situation, so I’d be like, ‘Maybe I’m going to get sick’… It’s kind of remarkable. I just grew out of it, but that’s not to say I don’t get worried.
Kristen is very open about her anxiety. Last year, she shared with Marie Claire that she suffered intense anxiety especially in her teenage years. Kristen says that she was “constantly anxious” and would make herself ill. However, her experience made her strong and gave her the “ability to persevere.”
In her Elle UK interview, Kristen talks very positively about her future. She hopes that everything will work out, but she’ll be okay with whatever happens. Stewart says when she is upset, she tries to think about “how good life can be.” She adds, “however consuming those feelings are, they are so momentary…I’m think pretty good at being happy.”
