Johnny Depp Joins Instagram And Thanks Fans For Their Unwavering Support Amid Amber Heard Lega

Johnny Depp, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, finally took his first step into the world of Instagram after he joined the social sharing platform and dropped a post in honor of his fans. The actor thanked fans for their “unwavering support” amid his brutal legal battle with Amber Heard.

The 56-year-old uploaded an 8-minute-long video on Thursday which ended with a heartfelt message to his fans. Depp thanked his followers and claimed he was “touched beyond words.” As fans of the actor know, he has come upon hard times in recent years.

First, the actor purportedly had financial problems after reports from the media suggested he was drinking $30,000 worth of wine every month. Around the same time, he and his wife, Amber Heard, had a very nasty divorce which ended with Depp’s reputation in flames.

Heard wrote a now-famous op-ed in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. While she never identified him by name, it was widely presumed to be Johnny she was referring to, the result of which ended with a defamation lawsuit.

Depp sued the actress for defamation after she publicly accused him of domestic abuse. Johnny has denied the allegations and stated she was the one who was the “aggressor.” Additionally, Depp filed a lawsuit against The Sun in 2018 which referred to him as a “wife-beater.”

Reportedly, Depp said in the court documents that the newspaper story cost him his job in the incredibly lucrative Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Regardless of Depp’s legal problems, Depp’s post was appropriately moving at a time when the world is fighting the coronavirus.

As it was noted above, Depp has come upon hard times in recent years but the tide has turned for him over the last 365 days. When audio recordings of Amber Heard admitting to abusive behavior were finally revealed, social media users slowly started to stand up for him.
