Hyde Metropolitan: New Sydney Deicorp apartment tower with 168 units wins final planning approval

A new high-rise apartment ”tower of power” in Sydney’s CBD has won final development approval and it’s aimed strictly at the top end of town.

Developer Deicorp’s Hyde Metropolitan will offer 168 apartments over 55 levels at 133 Liverpool St.

But they won’t come cheap, with the one-bedders on the lower floors priced from almost $1.3m and the top-range three-bedders at a whopping $12.5m.

“Deicorp is delighted to have been given the final go-ahead from the City of

Sydney’s Central Sydney Planning Committee to deliver this truly spectacular

apartment building,” said Deicorp’s founder Fouad Deiri, of the tower on the

corner of Liverpool and Castlereagh streets.

“The Hyde Metropolitan will be one of the Sydney CBD’s landmark residential

towers, located on the edge of the historic Hyde Park and emerging Tech Central

precincts.”

Building will start this month and be complete by the end of 2028.

Designed by the leading architectural firm Candalapas Associates. the tower will feature a six-level podium comprising of retail, commercial and residential communal areas.

City of Sydney ran a design competition, with Candalapas winning with its plan taking maximum advantage of the sweeping CBD and harbour views.

The design includes four levels of office space, ground floor retail, a

courtyard garden with trees and a communal floor for the building’s residents,

which will include gym, day spa and pool.

The building will offer one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and include

residences that will take maximum advantage of the surrounding vistas with 2.9m ceilings and full-height windows.

Upper-level residences will have their own private foyer and lift access.

The ground floor will feature a high-end restaurant and bar.
